Since founding Todd Interests in 1990, Shawn has led the firm in acquiring, developing and adaptively repurposing profitable and successful properties across the United States spanning abroad and diverse category of product types. Focused on real estate anomalies for over 30years,Todd Interests often acquires “out of the box”opportunities with some level of financial, legal and functional disparity. Many times these unique situations result in dealing directly with Sellers/Borrowers and their Lenders working through a complete legal restructuring and financial recapitalization of the asset prior to acquisition. Bankruptcy and Pre-bankruptcy are also arenas for which Todd Interests sources these real estate anomalies.

Todd Interests development projects have been the subject ofNational Public Radio (NPR)broadcasts; won numerous HistoricPreservation awards, a Telly award, a NAHB Pillar of TheIndustry award, the D CEO Trendsetter award and other numerous accolades. The University ofVirginia's, McIntire School of Commerce utilizes Todd Interests projects in numerous case studies each semester as part of their real estate curriculum.

Shawn is the recipient of the Topping Out Visionary Award, recognized in the A/E/C industry for his leadership and instrumental role in the development of a number of projects having a transformational impact on the community.Shawn has been consistently recognized by DCEO magazine as one of the 500 most influential business leaders in Dallas-Fort Worth. He currently sits on the Downtown Dallas Inc. advisory board and has previously served on the executive committee of The Real Estate Council as Chair of both the Public Policy AdvisoryCommittee and the Political Action Committee. Additionally, Shawn has been very involved in the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, having most recently served as the 2017-2019 Summit Chair for the Monticello Cabinet.

He and his wife, Cheryl are celebrating their 35th year of marriage. Shawn is a 1985 graduate ofBaylor University's Hankamer School of Business with a BBA in Entrepreneurship, Real Estate and Finance.
